BRAND NEW Worcester Studio Update

Hey Lovely People!

I hope you are all safe and well! What a 18 months we’ve all had! I hope if you are reading this right now that you and your loved ones are all doing ok!

Having lived in Sydney, Australia between 2016 – 2020 we arrived back in the Worcester, UK on Monday 23rd March on Day 1 of Lockdown, such an uncertain time for everyone, and I am so grateful to have been able to continue working during the UK lockdowns online doing PT via zoom, online classes and Emotion Code, Body Code and EFT (tapping).

It was a really challenging time for everyone in so many ways and I applaud everyone for getting through it! If you carried on working out over the past 18 months, WOW! that’s awesome! And if you didn’t and like so many of us are starting again afresh, congratulations for getting back into it! Or if you are still struggling, just know there is no rush, you take care of yourself and get back into it when you feel ready to!

Over the past 12 months, I’ve been busy renovating my Worcester Studio in anticipation of getting back into the swing of training people face to face again! How amazingly exciting!

We have a beautiful gym space downstairs, with tons of space to move and train to our hearts desires, some old favourites like the Power Plate, Squat Rack, Bench Press, Free Weights, Kettlebells, Core Sticks (you will love them! 😉 GripRs, VIPR’s, Foam rollers and much more and the addition of some beautiful NOHrD kit including Wall Bars, which are super versatile and so much fun and my absolute favourite… The Slim Beam, which is a beautiful wooden Cable Machine, the perfect resistance tool for seniors, people with vertigo, rehab, people who’ve never been in a gym all the way up to the gym bunny who never misses a day! This piece of kit is smooth, easy to use and full of endless potential when it comes to exercises we can do with it – you name a muscle, we can work it!

We also have a beautiful new floor from Escape Fitness, which just feels amazing, it’s been so nice and cool over the summer and is really grippy and feels amazing for any floor exercises!

We’ve also moved our Yoga and Pilates space upstairs to the indoor zen garden, which also has a Pole! People have tried it and they love it! Pole is so much fun and totally addictive! I’ll write a whole post on Pole Dancing as there is so much to cover just on this topic!

I am so excited to be back home in Worcester, the studio is all up and running, full of fun new toys as well as a beautiful space for The Emotion Code, The Body Code and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). Come and sit upstairs in a bright airy room full of plants and space and let go of some of the emotional baggage that’s been weighing you down!

I currently have space for a few new clients, so please get in touch if you need some help with your health, fitness and wellbeing!

I also have a couple of spaces in my online zoom classes that have been such a joy over the past 18 months!

*New* Beginners Gentle Mobility Course

Hey lovely people! And Happy New Year!!

I am very excited to be starting a Brand New Beginner’s Gentle Mobility Class next week and just wanted to open it up to anyone else who wants to start moving more…

I’m looking at 8 am Tuesday’s, to begin with via zoom.
I’m running it as a 10-week course.

Each session will be filmed and sent to the individuals who take part to practice at their leisure between classes.

I’ll be doing a consultation with each person joining to ensure everyone’s safety and give the best and appropriate moves to everyone joining in.

We are all different and each of us has our strengths and things we find more challenging. In these classes, we will build a strong foundation of movement to help with everyday tasks and to generally feel more mobile and help life feel easier!

This class is suitable for absolute beginners and also fantastic for anyone with a body! Great for anyone who is recovering from injury or who simply has lost some confidence in their body and movement.

Having had many injuries and lots of pain myself and with pretty much every client I’ve ever worked with over the past 15 years I’ve worked really hard to learn and understand as much about the human body as I can. Using a very kind approach where we encourage each person to move as they feel safe and comfortable to ensures we build mobility and strength in a really safe and effective way!

Welcome to ‘Move and Nourish’

Hello Wonderful People!

I hope you are very very well and enjoying this warm November!

I’m absolutely delighted to tell you all some very exciting news… www.moveandnourish.com is now up and running ready for you to enjoy!

Move and Nourish has been a dream for the past 2 and a half years which is now a reality! I can’t wait to share it with you!

My dream was to help all of my lovely clients who come to see me at the studio with home exercises and nutrition inspiration to keep them happy and healthy between sessions. As someone who personally needs a lot of constant inspiration to keep creative and to keep improving I wanted to create what I’d love to have myself a bright, beautiful, informative site that covers all basis… So here it is in it’s very first stages…

As a personal trainer I truly believe that health and happiness is not just about bootcamp style thrashings (even though sometimes it’s great fun!) but about creating balance in life. We need to learn and understand why we need to eat amazing nourishing foods, then learn how to make them, master our favourite recipes, then stay inspired for long enough to form a new habit… then continue to learn more so that we can grow. I will cover all things foodie in the ‘NUTRITION’ section of Move and Nourish.

This is exactly the same as for our fitness goals. Having worked in health clubs for 5 years before setting up my studio I saw all too often wonderful people joining up and coming in for inductions, then never changing their exercises, despite all my best efforts, wink! Many people do change it up, but I want to give you more, I want to teach you more about movement so that you feel comfortable choosing  the right thing for you on that day! I want to help you to understand why we need to mix it up and then show you exactly how to keep moving forwards and trying fun new things to keep your body alive and fresh!

I decided to create two exercise sections as I think it is SO important, ‘FUNCTIONAL FITNESS’ a place for fun sweaty workouts to get the heart and muscles working, as we grow this section will include…

-Awesome fun home workouts

-How to train at the gym

-Running specific training

-‘Get to know…’ sections covering specific muscles and body parts people always want to understand more in depth

And much much more to come!

Then we have a ‘3D YOGA’ section which will encourage you to move more and stretch to help you feel calm, relaxed, focused and happy, this will include

-traditional yoga sessions

-my own take on yoga, pilates, tai chi with an amazing functional twist to get even better results!

-Yoga nidra’s – ‘sleeping on the cloud of yoga’ meditations

-Power Poses – to increase your inner awesome

Then I’m delighted to tell you that the amazing Nigel Lowson, my amazing friend, mentor and inspiration is here in a whole ‘MEDITATION’ section to guide you through a whole year’s meditation practice, where he has included guided meditations and the most incredible advice and guidance in how to lead a happier, calmer, more well balanced life. He includes how to tackle dealing with difficult people, why we should meditate, how to meditate, gratitude, how to de-stress, how to be more honest and how to live each day as if it were on purpose! And last, but by no means least, my amazing husband, Matt Dodson has bought the whole site together, Matt has been working all the hours of the day and night to get www.moveandnourish.com up and running, doing all the behind the scenes work, keeping Nigel and I on track and making the site look so beautiful! We are very lucky to have him on board on our quest to help the world become healthier and happier!

Meditation Inspiration

Hey Hey Lovely People!
I’m delighted to announce that the lovely Mike Jones has joined our meditation family and will be taking a buddhist meditation session once a month at the studio… Woooo Hooooo!!
