I’m really excited to tell you about our upcoming weekend Retreat!

It’s our final Retreat of 2016 before we head out on an adventure to sunny Australia!

This is going to be our best one yet! We’ve had so much amazing feedback from all of our beautiful guests and are positive that this one will give you all you need for moving forwards to a healthier, happier you!

9.30 am – BONUS Sweaty workout for those of you who want to sweat! (optional)

10 am – A fun introduction to functional movement, perfect for all fitness levels!

10.30 am  – Green Smoothies and Meditation with Nigel

11.30 am  – Yoga with Aimie

12 pm – An introduction to Yogic Nidra, sleeping on the clod of yoga

12.30 pm – Lunch – Totally Gluten Free, Sugar Free and Vegan with the perfect mix of Raw Food and gently cooked hearty delights to suit every taste bud!

1.15 pm – Raw, Vegan, Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Happy, Healthy, Delicious, Desserts and food demo

2 pm – Meditation with Nigel

3 pm – Energising and Relaxing Yoga and Pilates moves to wake you up or help you sleep

3.30 pm – Final Kindness and compassion Meditation with Nigel

This Retreat mixes the perfect amount of calm quiet reflection with movement to keep you relaxed and calm, but full of energy! If the sun is shining we have beautiful outside grounds to sit in and stretch our bodies and be in nature, the perfect medicine for anyone who always feels busy and needs some balance!

The food is going to be the best yet! Our best salads plus amazing veggie burgers that are totally healthy and slowly cooked for maximum nutrition! And the desserts!  Well, I just can’t wait to eat them with you all!

Can you learn to ask better questions?

This topic just keeps on reoccurring so I needed to share it with you all!

 

About a year ago, the amazing John Hardy bought my attention to the fact that in the fitness industry we ask some really unhelpful questions…So as a trainer I needed to learn to ask better questions.

 

As a child we always asked questions, which seemed to annoy a lot of adults or result in the answer, “I don’t know” As we age, we can get into a habit of not questioning or not wanting to be rude… But questions are awesome when you ask better ones!

 

Every single day of our lives our mind is going through an internal dialogue, we have around 65,000 thoughts a day, 80% negative and 90 % the same as the day before! Can you remember any of yours?

 

We can be guilty of wasting time asking negative questions like, “Why can’t I lose weight?” “Why do I eat so much?”, “Why can’t I stop eating chocolate”

 

We are bombarded with images and marketing telling us that we need their products to be better. Why don’t I look like them, why don’t I have that car? Why is my hair not shiny like hers? You get the picture.

 

Comparison is the thief of happiness. And what I really want for you is simple, to be happier and healthier!

 

Once the question is out there we naturally find answers in our own minds. We ask questions and answer them all day long. Most of our answers are backing up the question, making it seem true!

 

“I can’t lose weight because I’m lazy, I have no will power, I’m big boned”… or “They wont pick me for the job because I’m not good enough, there will be someone better than me, I never get what I want”

 

So what I want to inspire you to do… What I beg you to do, What I wish and hope you will do is join me on the quest of asking better questions with me! Like anything it’s simply a new muscle that needs building up and making stronger. I found it really hard to being with, but with practice you will soon see an incredible difference!

 

So here are some questions for you to try…

 

Why am I good enough?

 

Why am I going to get inshape?

 

Why do I deserve health?

 

Why do all of my friends value me so much?

 

Why is my life incredible?

 

How can I look after myself better?

 

How can I make a few easy steps to reaching my goal?

 

What do I really want?

 

Once you are on a roll there will be no stopping you!

 

Then start questioning others too! In a kind, compassionate way of course!

January Yoga Challenge

Food Demo This Wednesday

Due to popular demand from my amazing Wednesday morning Functional Pilates Class (if anyone has been in this class you’ll know we are going to have fun!!) I will be holding a catch up Tasty Tuesday – on a Wednesday for those unable to make it last time….

We will be covering

-Amazing green smoothies to nourish your mind and bodies and how to keep inspired to drink them in the winter months

-Warming Autumn salads to keep you feeling energetic, happy, full and of course warm with the change of the season

-My two favourite raw desserts ever, an incredible, healthy, raw, gluten free, cheesecake and my favourite Raw Knickers Balls to keep your sweet tooth happy and of course super healthy!

I love BBQ…

Hello Food Fans!

If you are anything like me you will totally love summer and all of the delicious foods that come with it… sun ripened strawberries, fresh juices and salads, super sweet fruits and BBQ’s!! “Say what? BBQ? Aren’t you vegan?” I hear you cry, yes I am, but that doesn’t stop me totally enjoying delicious foods, I just have to be creative… So here are my best three easy BBQ meal ideas…

This was my first and quickest BBQ inspired meal…

BBQ Raw Pepper Burgers and Sweet Fries

1. simply chopped sweet potatoes, slowly cooked in a little coconut oil.

2. cut an orange pepper into 3 slices and fill with sliced avocado and broccoli or alfalfa sprouts (found in any good health food shop)

3. Top off with a slice of tomato and a little organic mustard (I had to get mine from wholefoods as every other place had nasty preservatives or E numbers in – we can do better than that right?)

4. Add a little pink Himalayan Salt and black pepper and any extra sprouts (highly nutritious and definitely a food you want in your weekly food intake) And enjoy!

Watermelon-aide

 

As it’s summer, we definitely need some beautiful hydrating food in our lives, so this amazingly quick watermelon juice is perfect! Simply chop the melon up and blend until smooth… that’s it! (A few posts down you should find a video on how to do this…)

BBQ Quinoa Wraps

This is a variation of my mongo wraps in my book, ‘Nourish with Aimie’ using nice big spring green leaves we get a fantastic base of alkalising greens, fibre and alkalising minerals with loads of taste…

1. Cook the quinoa for 15 minutes while prepping the rest of the food. After 15, take off the heat and allow to absorb remaining fluid and add in some BBQ spices, I used an organic BBQ mix I found in Las Vegas Wholefoods, but any sugar free mix will work

2. Wash your green and slice out the middle ‘vein’ that’s too tough to eat (can be juiced later) chop avocado and peppers, pick any herbs, I used micro herbs I’ve grown at home, coriander and cress, so easy and delicious!

3. Down one side of the ‘vein’ simply fill with quinoa, veggies and avo and some mustard (as before) then roll the filled side to the centre, fold in both ends and finish rolling to create your wrap and cut in half…That’s it! Enjoy!

30 day yoga challenge

As some of you will know I love yoga, I might not be the best at it and have been known to fall out of my headstands giggling, but it’s super fun to learn new things and we only fall down to pick ourselves back up. I started up again 3 years ago because I wanted to try something new and learn how to do cool tricks – I wanted a new challenge!

I had actually started doing yoga when I was 15 and I’d been begging my dad for a gym membership for my 16th birthday in my plan to become Angelina Jolie after watching gone in 60 seconds, I wanted to lose weight and be a bad ass! Up until that point I’d always quit everything I’d started, violin, guitar, basket ball, judo (1 lesson) so he set me a challenge, to lose 1 stone, then I could have a gym membership as my birthday present. I was 15, a size 18 and had no idea how to lose weight, I asked the doctor who said to go running…no chance! So I bought myself a yoga video (yes, video, it was 14 years ago) and I just started doing the 10 minute warm up every day, within a few weeks I’d changed, I looked taller, slimmer, I felt wonderful and I was well on my way to getting that gym membership!

That 10 minutes daily changed my life and I’d like to challenge you to see if just 10 minutes a day could change your life too!

I will post 3 little yoga video’s for you to try at home and see what happens if you just do one of these a day…

 

 

Mango and Avo Salad

 

Hello beautiful people!!

Happy Weekend! I had a really delicious salad that I thought needed sharing with the world…so here you go! This is the salad my mum makes me when I’m working late…how lucky am I! It’s so delicious and will tempt everyone who sees you eating it! My little cousins who are 6 and 7 always want some!

Salad

So here are the ingredients and how to make it…

Grate or use the Tefal fresh express to chop

-2-3 courgettes

-3-4 carrots

-1 beetroot

then chop up some sweet smelling ripe mango, 1 should do it!

add in  1-2 chopped avocadoes

and some organic sweet corn

Dressing

Then simply stir in 1/4-1/2 tsp ground coriander

the juice of 1-2 limes

fresh rosemary

And that’s it!

Meditation and Relaxation Day July 10th & 11th 2015
