New Timetable and a Little Gift x

Hello Gorgeous People!

I hope you are all enjoying the time building up towards Christmas! I certainly am! I feel so lucky that we have had a lovely mild few weeks to enjoy the warm breeze! I’ve been studying more ancient forms of yoga this month and am really enjoying learning more and playing with totally new movements that feel wonderful!

So my christmas present to you all is to get you to think of 3 things you are grateful for, but not just anythings… a specific 3 things that will make you feel like the luckiest person alive when you do it regularly. I do this after every meditation practice and I love it, so I hope you enjoy!

1. Think of 1 person who makes your life more fun/enjoyable/happier, who makes you feel loved or special and think about why you like/love them so much. (you could even text them afterwards to tell them?)

2. Remember something you’ve done in your life that you are proud of yourself for and really dwell on how incredible you are capable of being!

3. In your mind experience or try to remember one thing in nature that you love, for example, the crunch of leaves beneath your feet in autumn or the sun on your skin. My favourite is a warm breeze through my hair on a summers night.

That’s it! Why not give it a go?

Oh yes, and here is my new timetable ready for you all to get into the self care spirit before the new year!

Have a wonderful day lovely ones!

Exciting News…. Meet Mike

Hello gorgeous people!!

Meet my amazing friend Mike, he is awesome! He is inspirational and I think you all need to meet him!

As you all know, I’m a huge fan of meditation and love my daily practice of either breath work, visualisation meditations or one of my favourite’s, Yogic Nidra (I’ll post a do-along-at-home version for you all to try soon!)

After spending the past few years practicing Buddhism, Mike wants to share his amazing knowledge with everyone, if you’d like to come we’d love to have you!

So….I’m very excited to let you know he will be guest hosting this Monday’s meditation evening starting 7 pm @ The Move and Nourish Studio.

This will be an amazing opportunity to learn what life is like in Buddhist monasteries, some Buddhist meditation techniques and learn more about happiness through teachings of the Buddha. I can’t wait to hear and learn more!

Mike is so incredibly passionate about health and happiness through the combination of amazing nutrition, exercise and of course meditation!

To attend this wonderful evening please message myself or the lovely Mike and we just kindly ask for just a donation to the Worcester Snoezelen charity on the evening.

Happy weekend everyone and here’s to an even happier week!!

Squash the N.A.Ts and chase the butterflies

chase the butterflies

Ok, this might sound a bit harsh on the poor old Nat’s, but I promise no animals were harmed in the writing of this post, so hear me out…

NATs or ‘Negative Automatic Thoughts’ are straight up a pain in the peachy, perky, rock hard bum. It’s that little internal chatterbox nattering away saying, “I can’t do this” or “It’s too hard” or “Why does this always happen to me?” they are irritating, keep flying around our heads and make it hard to see past them. To see what we are actually made of, to see our true potential and inner awesomeness… they are a distraction and worth kicking to the curb!

So I have a suggestion for you, every time a limiting thought enters your mind, imagine that this thought is not actually your own opinion or actually anything to do with you (we are not our thoughts and we are not our mistakes), but an actual NAT, and you are simply going to squish it between your fingers and watch the dust fall to the ground into nothing-ness.

Once all those little NATs have been cleaned away you can start to notice the butterflies, the inspiring thoughts, the thoughts that bring you to life, the thoughts that anything could happen, then chase these, follow them, skip along with them, climb over gates and run through meadows to see where they go…See what could happen by chasing these awesome butterfly thoughts.

It’s a bit like worrying, but worrying about how successful you could be, how freakin’ amazing your life could be, what a difference you could make in the world and what you could really achieve!

For example…. Turn “I’m too big and unfit, I always let myself down” into “I’ve started to walk 10,000 steps every day and I feel better…. I could run a 5k eventually, I could even run and walk a 10k, that would be great exercise…. I might join a new class… Check me out in my new gym kit looking all slim and happy! Hey Gorgeous, looking good! I could join a running group and make new friends… I might even meet someone who could help me further my career or inspire me to start things I’d never even though of, who knows… I might get sponsored by Nike, then they will want me to model for them, I’d get all the free kit I could ever dream of… They would want me in their adverts and fly me all over the world… I could create my own brand…”

You get the idea… daydream about all the possibilties out there. You only have to look around you to see dreams do come true! Look at 1 Direction, a bunch of boys who they shoved together as a last thought on x-factor have literally taken over the world. Look at the people who inspire you, they all have a story… you get to decide what yours will be!

What do you want? Decide. Decision is the ultimate power! Go and chase it!

Everything starts as a thought and as you open your mind up to more amazing options you will start to see amazing things happen!

Let me know what you chase! I’d love to hear from you!

Turmeric…let’s give it a go…

Happy Monday lovely people!!!

So…you’ve all heard the hype, you need Turmeric, it’s anti inflammatory, countries that use Turmeric have a much lower rate of disease, it’s a super food right… but how to use it?

Turmeric

Well, I just need to tell you this and then we will get onto the yummy nourishing stuff… sugar, the white stuff in biscuits, cakes, ketchup, Pringles, jarred tomato sauces, microwave meals, breads and so many more things cause chronic inflammation, so to reduce inflammation firstly cut out these refined sugars, eat fresh home made foods, as local, seasonal and organic as you can, or grow them yourselves and try adding in some Turmeric.

While I’m on the subject, fruit is not the same as white sugar, fruit is packed full of nutrients, minerals, fibre, fluids that hydrate and nourish your cells. If you are eating whole fresh fruit, that’s fantastic!!

You can get Turmeric in two ways, dried and in a ground powder or fresh in it’s root form, I love the root form! So, I’m going to share with you many ways to add Turmeric into your food….

So here is the first way I started using Turmeric, in a juice

The Orange Healer

-1 kg of organic carrots
-1 Turmeric root
-1 small chunk of ginger
-1 lemon
-1 lime
-1 orange

turmeric juice

pop all ingredients through the juicer and enjoy!

So I hope you enjoy this juice and keep nourishing that gorgeous body of yours!

Happy Monday all!xx

Where can I get the book?

Nourish with AimieHello lovely people!

WOW!!! I’m absolutely delighted with the response I’ve been getting with ‘Nourish with Aimie’ I have copies of the book at my studio in Worcester, but to help everyone who wants one easily get hold of a copy I’m really excited to let anyone who would like a copy of the book know that the amazing Rachel and Shirley from Umberto Giannini have some copies and the incredible Helen (who makes the best salads in Worcester in Chesters) has some too!! These amazing ladies have been so supportive over the last few years! Helen has created amazing dishes for me as my diet has changed, going from gluten free, dairy free and sugar free to completely raw. Then Rachel and Shirley have helped me reduce my chemical intake by using organic, eco friendly hair products and fully following all the fun and nourishing things I’ve encouraged them try!! Rachel swapped her sweets for green smoothies and Shirley has cured her psoriasis by changing her diet!! Thank you ladies for being so fantastic!! Love Aimie xx

Anti-inflammitory Turmeric Smoothie

Good afternoon! I’m on a roll this week, I feel I’ve got so much I need to share with you all!

This morning I made this utterly delicious smoothie which will delight your taste buds and also sooth your cells!

turmeric

It’s super simple and soooo tasty! Turmeric is amazing and has been linked to the very low cancer rates in parts of Japan and India, It is an anti-inflammitory and tastes lovely! It’s bright orange colour tells you your in for some serious goodness!

I’ve added in some romaine lettuce, to get our greens in and to alkalise our systems, lemon, to cleanse and alkalise, raw honey (I’ve got a post-seminar detox cough, honey helps the turmeric stick to the throat) black pepper, this helps to absorb the properties from the turmeric and water to mix, plus some frozen mango, 1 banana and 1/4 avocado for it’s good fat and vital nutrients!

turmeric

Simply blend…

6-8 romaine leaves
frozen mango – about 1/3 mango
2 turmeric root pieces
300 ml water
dash of course black pepper
1 banana
1/4 avocado

and take a deep breathe, smile and enjoy!xx

Athlete Appreciation Week! Day 2 – Lucy

Ok…. this lady has gone through quite the transformation… Lucy has lost 5 stone! Yes, 5 whole stone, 70 lbs, 31.8 kgs!

lucy

But the thing I’d really like to tell you about Lucy is that she lost 4 stone, then hit a plateau… “Ahhhh, a plateau…to be expected” said the wise man. When we pleateau we have to make a change… change creates change! Lucy stopped losing weight for 1 year, she continued to train, her body shape changed and is now one of my strongest girls, but she didn’t give up. We tried a few things and I eventually persuaded her to see my amazing nutritionist, Claire McDonald, who gave her a bespoke program to follow based on Lucy’s entire history. Within 2 months of just making a few tweaks, she has lost another stone and looks incredible! Her goal is to be super fit and healthy for life!

Lucy is getting married in 2016 and she is going to make the most beautiful bride inside and out!

So, here are the 3 things Lucy does consistently to stay on track…

1. She works out 3-6 times every week, coming to my early morning and evening bootcamps and is super active, cycling and trying new things. This is her lifestyle!

2. She sticks to her nutrition plan and loves it, she loves that her skin looks amazing and she is getting leaner, fitter and healthier! It is a positive that she looks after herself!

3. Lucy is open to trying new things. Lucy just ran her first 5 km run and is now training for a 10 k! She went to see the nutritionist who explained why she needed to adjust what she was doing and she can now see the results!

Well Done Lucy!

You Rock!
