Ok, this might sound a bit harsh on the poor old Nat’s, but I promise no animals were harmed in the writing of this post, so hear me out…

NATs or ‘Negative Automatic Thoughts’ are straight up a pain in the peachy, perky, rock hard bum. It’s that little internal chatterbox nattering away saying, “I can’t do this” or “It’s too hard” or “Why does this always happen to me?” they are irritating, keep flying around our heads and make it hard to see past them. To see what we are actually made of, to see our true potential and inner awesomeness… they are a distraction and worth kicking to the curb!

So I have a suggestion for you, every time a limiting thought enters your mind, imagine that this thought is not actually your own opinion or actually anything to do with you (we are not our thoughts and we are not our mistakes), but an actual NAT, and you are simply going to squish it between your fingers and watch the dust fall to the ground into nothing-ness.

Once all those little NATs have been cleaned away you can start to notice the butterflies, the inspiring thoughts, the thoughts that bring you to life, the thoughts that anything could happen, then chase these, follow them, skip along with them, climb over gates and run through meadows to see where they go…See what could happen by chasing these awesome butterfly thoughts.

It’s a bit like worrying, but worrying about how successful you could be, how freakin’ amazing your life could be, what a difference you could make in the world and what you could really achieve!

For example…. Turn “I’m too big and unfit, I always let myself down” into “I’ve started to walk 10,000 steps every day and I feel better…. I could run a 5k eventually, I could even run and walk a 10k, that would be great exercise…. I might join a new class… Check me out in my new gym kit looking all slim and happy! Hey Gorgeous, looking good! I could join a running group and make new friends… I might even meet someone who could help me further my career or inspire me to start things I’d never even though of, who knows… I might get sponsored by Nike, then they will want me to model for them, I’d get all the free kit I could ever dream of… They would want me in their adverts and fly me all over the world… I could create my own brand…”

You get the idea… daydream about all the possibilties out there. You only have to look around you to see dreams do come true! Look at 1 Direction, a bunch of boys who they shoved together as a last thought on x-factor have literally taken over the world. Look at the people who inspire you, they all have a story… you get to decide what yours will be!

What do you want? Decide. Decision is the ultimate power! Go and chase it!

Everything starts as a thought and as you open your mind up to more amazing options you will start to see amazing things happen!

Aimie’s Inspirations… Novak Djokovic

Hello my lovely health and fitness family!

I hope you are all very well!

So…I thought I would share with you some of my favourite people who inspire me and after the tennis yesterday I decided to finally write about my favourite tennis star… Novak Djokovic, there are many reasons I always root for Djokovic and the first one was simply that he always seems to have fun! Dressing up as Shakira and always seeming to enjoy life, this was the athlete I want to support… Why take it too seriously, just enjoy every day!

I’ve loved training since I was little and used to do 500 sit-ups every night before bed, but I’ve never been interested in sport, but more in the nutrition, training and mental aspect of sport, but I will happily watch Djokovic’s ridiculous lunges for the ball! He’s amazing!

He is an incredible athlete! Rising from number 17 in the world to 1st is pretty epic and all after giving up gluten…I’m a big fan! I love that he has openly talked about his diet and will have inspired others to eat better! To see the impact of this change is fantastic and shows how by simply looking after yourself you can get the edge! Of course, he will be very determined and have incredible drive, but you can’t ignore these results!
He actually found that by using a muscle testing system called, kinesiology testing, which is what my colonic hydrotherapist has used for years with me, that they found gluten did not suit him. Interestingly, kinesiology testing can be used not just for food and allergy testing, but also on many top athletes for testing the right insole in the shoes etc. and can also be used for emotional testing…very interesting!!

Djokovic also meditates!!! Wooooo Hoooo!! For the last four years Djokovic has visited the Buddhapadipa Temple to meditate and relieve stress between matches, “When I’m staying in Wimbledon Village, I like to relax between matches by being with nature.” He noted he enjoys “hearing the peaceful sounds of the water and seeing people just relax and connect with nature.”
Meditation, as you all know is of huge interest to me since I started practicing 3 years ago with my good friend Nigel, who is just as inspiring as Novac to me. They both seem to have this ease of life and inner happiness, which I find incredible!

Meditation increases concentration and focus, but also seems to give you more hours every day, eliminates procrastination and helps you to enjoy the simple thing in life!

I really admire, as I’m sure most do, people who chase their dreams, who help others find their way and lives an inspiring life! He, like all of us has had to overcome obstacles…and he is doing it

So in summary, I love having Djokovic as a role model, he is a family man and incredibly successful, has written a book on (which is on it’s way to my door right now) and he meditates! What’s not to like!

Overheard Today – Eat That Frog….

Hollo Lovely Lovely People!

I hope you’ve all had a glorious day! I’m feeling extremely grateful for having had a brilliant busy day of training absolutely lovely, inspiring, wonderful people today and just wanted to share a conversation we had this morning in our 6.15 am bootcamp about “Eating The Frog”

As some of you might know, one of my favourite websites is www.marcandangel.com it’s an awesome site that positively inspires me every day! I have their audio and listen to it regularly… They talk about eating that frog… don’t worry, not literally! It’s a quote from Mark Twain and Brian Tracy uses it as a tool to stop procrastination to make every day more productive and enjoyable. If there is something you don’t want to do, but you get it done first thing the rest of the day will be a lovely experience by comparison and you’ll probably enjoy it a whole lot more!

So what is your frog?

I’d been playing with the idea of working out first thing every day for a while and decided in December I was going to take action. Exercise isn’t like eating a frog to me, I love it, but have a bad habit of letting other things get in my way. So by simply fitting in my workouts a bit earlier I’ve already done my favourite thing and as a result my day feels even better! I feel more creative, calmer, happier and anything that pops up doesn’t feel like it’s getting in the way.

So what could you do first thing every morning to improve your entire day?

Here are a few ideas I’ve thought of to help inspire you…

Drink 500 ml water first thing in the morning to hydrate your gorgeous body and make you feel awesome while kickstarting your body’s natural cleansing

Move simply have a stretch, do a bit of yoga, hang your head forward and sway to loosen your back up after your rest

Try meditation just 12 minutes every day helps to rewire your brain and improves memory, increases the ability to learn, calms the nervous system, helps you think more positively and so much more!

Pack a healthy lunch don’t get caught out at the office meeting with all that stodge that weighs you down, simply pack healthy fresh goodness like veggie sticks,fruit, a juice or smoothie, some nuts to keep to feeling awesome all day!

Make that Phone call or ask someone for that favour you’ve been wanting to ask, give someone a compliment, say hello to a stranger… do something that makes you feel a little uncomfortable and you’ll feel so good about yourself the rest of the day will be smooth and you’ll feel as cool as The Fonz! Hey!!!

Squats/ Lunges/ Press Ups/ Pull Ups/ Jump Up and Down… If you want to get results, how good would you feel if you started your day with your own personal fitness goal? My goal at the moment is to build up to 10 full pull ups, so every day I’m jumping up on that bar and lowering myself until I can do 10 full ones!

What is holding you back?

Hey guys,

I hope everyone is having a great week! I’ve had a very interesting, self reflective week which has bought me to the question… What is holding you back?

What is holding you back from your dream body?
What is holding you back from your dream job?
What is holding you back from starting new hobbies?
What stops you buying that outfit you would love to wear?
What is holding you back from forgiving someone?
What is holding you back from forgiving yourself?
What is holding you back from asking for that pay increase, that you really deserve?
What is holding you back from going to the gym/going for that run/starting that class?
What is holding you back from asking that person out?
What is holding you back from trying something new?
What is holding you back from writing that book?
What is holding you back from doing what you love doing?

What is holding you back?

I’ve spent a lot of time mulling these questions over and asking friends, family, gym buddies and some of the answers are fear of failure, fear of success, fear of change, what if I can’t maintain the change? I would have no excuses not to get there if I stopped doing…

It has been very interesting and most people said that if they stopped holding themselves back they might just get exactly what they want, which actually scares them.

I’ve decided to let go, to let go of all of the excuses, to let go of my fears, to let go of all negatives. I am going to do 1 new thing every day! Will you join me?

-DECISION IS THE ULTIMATE POWER-

Once you decide, once you commit to doing that thing, the thing you spend all of your time thinking about, the thing that is always there, in the back of your mind… decide to do it, chunk it down into smaller bite size, doable things, like’ “today i will go to the gym” or “today I will drink more water” or “I’m going to try a meditation class”, what ever it is, just do 1 thing to get you closer to that thing, the thing that is always there…

On that note, the thing I’ve always wanted, the thing that keeps grumbling at the back of my mind, the thing that holds me back is abs, I want washboard, show stopping abs, so today, right now, I am going for a run, then 30 minutes of yoga and 5 minutes of the toughest core exercises I can think up. Then rest of my day will be better for this!

Wash your veggies!

Just a quick one today… Wash your veggies…

So, if you can’t get organic, it’s really important to clean your fruits and veg, to remove those nasty pestiside that kill the bugs! There won’t be as many nutrients in non-organic foods, but we can give ’em a good clean to save our bodies the hard work and also cutting down our risks of consuming all these chemicals!

As you know, I like a quick easy option for everything, so I will soak my fresh produce in a bath of water, a glug of raw apple cider vinegar and some bob’s aluminium free bicarb/ baking soda as I head out for work, so when I get back at lunch they are ready to go!

I even let them drain on the plate rack for 30 mins before cutting them into a tasty salad!
